Galaxy – A Journey through the milky way (engl.)
How far is it to the stars? This simple question has already occupied the scholars of antiquity. But they knew no answer to it. Not only the size of the universe, but also the variety of objects in our home galaxy is breathtaking. A gigantic zoo of objects greets the traveler who ventures into space: clouds of gas and dust that condense and breathe life into new stars.
With the space mission Gaia, a true quantum leap in mapping the universe is now imminent. And with these measurements, the goal is not only to better understand the stars, but also to discover countless planets, map asteroids, and recognize the distribution of dark matter. The show tells the story of this quest for the distance to the stars and the understanding of the universe.
